ELLSWORTH FACT SHEET:
Recipient of Highest Percentage of Special Interest Money
Among U.S. Senate Candidates in the Entire Country
Majority of Campaign Coffers Filled by Groups He Decries
INDIANAPOLIS (October 11, 2010) – Incumbent Congressman Brad Ellsworth has become the recipient of a dubious honor recently. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Congressman Ellsworth is the only U.S. Senate candidate in the country to have received a majority of his campaign contributions from special interests – in fact the highest percentage of special interest money of any candidate for Senate in the entire country.
During his first television advertisement of his U.S. Senate candidacy, Congressman Ellsworth decried special interests saying they “already have enough Senators on their side.”
Ironically, it is special interests that have funded a majority of Ellsworth’s campaign.
