My opponent will try to make my experience an issue in this campaign in order to change the subject. But there is an important difference between him and me: on the issues most important to Hoosiers and our Nation at this time – the economy and national security – there will be no learning curve for me.


This is a time of crisis both for our economy and our national security. I have long been a stalwart of fiscal discipline, committed to controlled spending, lower taxes and economic policies meant to spur job growth, not stall it. I believe my service in the Army, on the Armed Services Committee, the Intelligence Committee and as an Ambassador to a vital ally, is valuable experience and something I’ll be able to employ to address the critical national security issues we face from Day One.
